1. What inspired you to start your own interior design company?

Since childhood, I’ve daydreamed about owning a business that made people’s lives more beautiful. I was blessed to grow up and watch my mother build a home supporting my sisters and me to flourish.

You’re So FLy: Lucas Ward

Meet Flywheeler Lucas Ward –a Cloud/Dev Ops Engineer for Ippon Technologies and self-proclaimed “Mad Scientist!” As a Cloud/DevOps Engineer for Ippon Technologies USA, Lucas heads up their Charlotte office. He didn’t always work in the tech space, leaving UNCC for a nearly 10 year stint in the food and beverage space while he managed a Jimmy John’s restaurant. Overcoming numerous personal obstacles, Lucas shares that it was the guidance of a mentor that brought him back on track and into the world of DevOps. Now, he lives in Concord with his wife and two kids.

Gabrielle Befort was a new mother of twins when she had the idea for Star Style Solutions. After transitioning from her career as an engineer to a full-time mom, she suddenly found herself having to make adjustments in both her budget and her wardrobe. She has always had a love for fashion and a knack for style and was now in need of a creative solution.
